My Life in:
California
November 1992 to July 1998
Well, my life in Cali wasn't as grand as some but good nonetheless. Here is where I pretty much began to grow up. In personality and in maturity. It was here that I began to choose my interests and hobbies that would eventually affect who I am today. It was here that I began playing football that eventually ended in my junior year when I decided to focus on grades rather than a high school football career. It was here that I also began to show an interest in computing which has stayed with me until this day. I also continued the development of my skill in playing my musical instrument of choice: the Trumpet. The Trumpet is the cockiest instrument of them all which I believe fits my personality perfectly. In the high school band is where I found most of my friends and spare time. I was truly a bando during my years here. I feel that fit me quite well because I wasn't a real out going person at that stage of my life. And I now look back and think how much of a little boy I was.
I would have to say the most memorable times I have had here in Cali were with Landon. The trumpet, cars, music and girls were the similarities that we shared throughout our times together. I actually am amazed that we still exist as friends today. We don't write or speak to each other but yet we still understand each other. And of course with the turning of 16 I began dating and shortly found a girlfriend Elisabeth. And my youthful relationship was spent trying to impress and please her. But eventually it ended and another girl took a place in my heart, one unlike any other: The Vette. It is really amazing how much a difference this single car has made on my life. From geek/bando to a hot roding teenager. My thoughts have wavered to whether I will keep the car, but I think that I will keep her.
All in all, my time here was enjoyable. But I know that I needed something different to really grow up. The pace of life here seemed to fast for me. I preferred a little more relaxed atmosphere. The weather here was as everybody knows, amazing, but I prefer a more country feel than that of the city. A little less congested - especially on the freeways. Maybe I just couldn't deal with the traffic. California was good, but I have defiantly moved on.
